“I am Fabric Inspired“

Diversity of qualities of textile fabrics

Fabric Inspired originated from my Indonesian/Moluccan roots, love for the country, fashion and craftsmanship. The name comes from the diversity of qualities of textile fabrics and how the stunning patterns and colors are determined by the weaving technique. During my travels through Indonesia I have seen a lot such as poverty, resilience and the ability to make something from nothing through the drive that people experience when they believe in their dreams.

To build a bridge between Indonesia and the Netherlands

That's why I started Fabric Inspired in 2017. What I dream is to build a bridge between Indonesia and the Netherlands to create mutual cooperation based on mutual trust, love for what you do, fun and passion. These key words have become a kind of rules of life for me, rules of life that I have discovered through trial and error in my own life and that I experience as an important aspect of how you function as a person and open up to other people.

  • To build a bridge between Indonesia and the Netherlands;

  • Create mutual cooperation based on mutual trust;

  • Love for what you do, fun and passion.

Main focus on fashion and craft

This bridge is mainly focused on fashion and craft because of my love for traditionally made clothing and shoes. With this in mind, it is possible that many more different movements can be combined, such as making leather goods, jewelry and corporate identity products.

This will require:

  1. Significant investment;

  2. Political will;

  3. A shared commitment to the future of our planet.

Building a Network Where Collaboration Fuels Growth and Strengthens Connections

In addition, collaboration between people who are passionate about one of these movements or have the same idea from Indonesia and the Netherlands is the main goal. The goal is to build a network in which people work together, exchange ideas and make each other stronger by growing together. All this combined with the use of recyclable materials. This is how I try to create a better future and protect cultural heritage in Indonesia.

My name is Marlon Pakes and I am Fabric Inspired.
